    The Harsh Lessons of Detroit
In an oft-repeated pattern, Wall Street cranked up sales of closed-ends to feed the appetite for a specific type of investment, in this case for income — which is CEFs’ forte because most use leverage and can take advantage of the near-zero interest …

Roderick Scott: The Black George Zimmerman?

christopher cervini_roderick scottRoderick Scott, a black man, shot and killed Christopher Cervini, an unarmed 17-year-old white child/teenager, in 2009.

Scott faced a charge of first-degree manslaughter after it was reduced from Murder. Scott claimed he shot the teen in self defense.

Some say similarities in this case are uncanny to those of the Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin case in Florida, while others greatly disagree.

During the early morning hours of April 4, 2009, 42-year-old Roderick Scott was asleep on the couch of his Greece, New York home when he was awakened by noises outside. After looking out the window, Scott observed three kids/teens breaking into his car. Scott then placed his gun in his waistband, told his girlfriend to call 911, and walked outside.

Scott confronted the teens, who were at that point going through a neighbor’s car.

Scott stated he told them to “stop and wait for the police.” Sadly, one of the teens would not have that chance.

Scott, who already had drawn his gun, chambered a round, got in a shooting stance, and fired two shots at 17-year-old Christopher Cervini, killing him.

Scott immediately claimed self defense. However, unlike the Zimmerman/Trayvon case, there was an eye witness.

James Cervini, a 15-years-old, was one of the three teens that were allegedly breaking into cars that morning. James stated that Scott fired his weapon after Christopher yelled “please don’t shoot me, I’m just a kid.”

Scott denies the 17-year-old ever said those words to him.

The prosecution intended to prove that 17-year-old Christopher was actually shot from behind and not from the front as Scott had Claimed, but the Jury did not see it that way.

Scott was subsequently acquitted by the Jury after 19 hours of deliberation.

This trial did not make national headlines as the Zimmerman trial did and was quickly forgotten by the public due to the lack of media coverage. Why? Many suspect it’s because it was a black man that killed a 17-year-old white male. The media did not turn it into a sideshow nor did they make it about race.

One Mom, wrote, “Obama, Al Sharpton, and Eric Holder did not come to 17-year-old Christopher’s defense. The white community didn’t have the “New Black Panther Party” threatening to kill Scott Roderick in justice of young Christopher. 17-year-old Christopher Cervini’s parents didn’t trademark Christopher’s name and attempt to profit from it. Jamie Foxx didn’t step up to the plate and make any statements or wear any shirts in Christopher’s memory. Why? I don’t understand she said emotionally. The media was a huge problem in the Zimmerman case yet they barely covered Christopher’s tragic death. Why aren’t Federal Charges being pushed by Eric Holder? Was it because 17-year-old Christopher was white? Please explain it to me Mr. Holder. I want an explanation and the parents deserve an explanation.”

This seems to be the question on the minds of many Americans after the Circus during and following the Zimmerman/Trayvon trial that has yet to be answered.

Boys and Girls Club of Marion County – We Need Your Help

Burglars broke into the Boys and Girls Club of Marion County over the weekend and vandalized the inside, causing thousands of dollars in damage.

Police were called out the facility located on Southwest 12th Avenue on Sunday around 1:00 p.m. on July 13, 2013. The police said, “the vandals broke into the south end of the building but the most damage was done on the north end.” The burglars entered the building by breaking windows then once inside they broke mirrors, glass appliances, and glass basketball backboards in the gym.

They poured paint on the floor of one room, broke a kitchen sink, and left the water running in the bathroom with the drains plugged. They turned on the burner to a gas stove leaving pieces of cardboard stuffed inside the burners. The cardboard caught fire, fortunately it did not spread from the stove-top.

The TV screen at the Boys and Girls Club was also smashed in.

The individuals that caused this damage clearly do not have any respect.

Boys & Girls Clubs of America had its beginnings in 1860 with several women in Hartford, Connecticut Believing that boys who roamed the streets should have a positive alternative, so they organized the first Club.

Character development has been the cornerstone of the Boys & Girls Club experience since the first Club opened in 1860.

The Ocala police are asking anyone with information about the persons who committed this crime to come forward.
Anyone with knowledge about the burglary is asked to call Detective Steve Daunhauer at (352) 368-5405, or Ocala Police’s main line at (352) 369-7000

Eric Holder Wants Federal Charges Against Zimmerman – Double Standard?

    Blacks riot for Trayvon Martin
Violence After Zimmerman Found Not Guilty

The black community cannot seem to move past the Not Guilty verdict in the Zimmerman Trial. While violence grows among the black community; breaking out businesses windows, attacking innocent bystanders, and threatening the defense teams families, the NAACP is pressing the DOJ.

    Death Threats Against George Zimmerman
Death threats against Zimmerman and the Jury

A Sanford, FL resident who is an African American female said “how can they allow an all white jury of women, everyone knows that white women are afraid of black men.” Chants in the crowd range from “I am Trayvon” to “Kill Zimmerman.” Twitter is flooded with death threats toward [white people] as well as to the six innocent women that were on the jury. Black men demanding the addresses of the jurors and threatening to rape the defense attorney’s daughter. Many Sanford residents have stated “the threats are sickening , the serious threats to [white people] does not help the image of the black community at all.”

Eric Holder is bringing the [Stand Your Ground] law into the spotlight yet Zimmerman’s trial had nothing to do with SYG nor was it ever used in the defense of Mr. Zimmerman. Holder has met with NAACP leaders as to whether or not Federal charges will be brought against Zimmerman citing Zimmerman violated Trayvon’s Civil Rights. Obama has stated “I will not play a role in the DOJ decision in regards to filing Federal charges against Zimmerman.” However many Americans are not buying into Obama’s claim that he will not be involved. Many Americans feel that Holder is favoring the black community in many of his decisions including the decision to drop the charges against the New Black Panther Party during Obama’s re-election. During Obama’s re-election the NEW Black Panther Party blocked [white voters] from entering voter poles in fear they would not vote for Obama. Charges were filed but later dropped after Holder was appointed by Obama. Holder said “ I have to protect my people.”

Americans want to know why evidence from Trayvon’s cell phone, including Trayvon’s reputation and background from Miami was not allowed to be admitted into evidence. One Marion County, FL resident who wishes to withhold their name said “Zimmerman was found not guilty however the community is still making Trayvon appear as if he were a five year old innocent child. His cell phone and his troubled past in Miami tell a different story. A young man at the age of 17 that grows marijuana, tries to purchase a hand gun, and was found with jewelry that he claimed was “given” to him paints a different picture. However the black community is not willing to look at those facts , they are only looking at it one sided. Black children shoot each other every day yet Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson do not make a big deal out of those shootings do they? Blacks rape white young girls every day and get away with it. Did the [whites] riot after OJ killed a white woman? No, we didn’t because we have more sense. Zimmerman was retreating and there was FOUR minutes for Trayvon to plot his attack in the pitch black dark. Attorney Krump said ‘it’s not OK that Zimmerman called Trayvon a [fu####g punk] or an [A-hole]’, yet it’s OK for Trayvon to refer to Zimmerman a [Creepy Ass Cracka]. I feel like there is a huge double standard here.”

So, is there a double standard among the black community? We want to hear from you. Vote and leave your comments below.

WAITER PUMMELED IN THE FACE WITH A HAMMER- RESULT OF THE ZIMMERMAN VERDICT

    Trayvon Martin Riots
    Flora’s Restaurant Oakland, CA

When the jury in the second degree murder trial of George Zimmerman returned to the courtroom after deliberating for 16 ½ hours with a verdict of “Not Guilty,” emotions were understandably at a boiling point. With pro-Trayvon Martin protesters taking to the streets in high numbers all around the country as we approach the fourth day of the verdict protests, the peaceful demonstrations quickly escalated into violence in several major cities.

“Gruesome” is how one witness described it, referring to a waiter who was pummeled in the face with a hammer when angry protesters attacked Flora’s restaurant in Oakland, CA on Monday night.

Bartender Phillip Ricafort told The Oakland Tribune, ‘’Protesters in black masks approached the building and attempted to bang at the window’’ The waiter said, “Don’t do that” and at that moment is when the protester turned around and smacked the waiter in the face with the hammer.

The LA Times reports that the waiter was taken to the hospital via ambulance.

The civil unrest shows no sign of slowing down as violence continues to spill the streets in places such as; New York, including the city of both Los Angles and Oakland, California.

The violence after the Zimmerman verdict is much like the violence that California residence experienced in 1992 after a “Not Guilty” verdict was handed down in the Rodney King trial.
