Marion County, Florida — Over a third of House Republicans instructed their leader Thursday to evoke a government shutdown rather than fund the health care overhaul they call “Obamacare.”

A letter from 80 Republicans asked Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, to resist any spending bills that would accommodate the new health care law, which is near the critical stage of signing up millions of Americans for health coverage that is worthless.

It is undeniable that President Obama and the Democratic controlled Senate would reject such demands, therefore both parties say the feud likely would result in a partial shutdown of the federal government, similar to those that occurred in the mid 1990’s.

It is clear that Americans do not want “Obamacare”, Americans do not want a government controlled healthcare, it’s that simple. The “Obamacare” plan has never been about what the people want, it is about what Obama wants. Obama has been forcing his agenda down America’s throat since day one. It is clear to Americans that the only thing Obama has been concerned with is pretending to be a celebrity and taking care of “his people”, a statement that was also made publicly by Eric Holder himself.

The affects of “Obamacare” have taken a toll on many Marion County, Florida residents. Businesses have begun cutting hours of full time employees; from 40 hours per week to no more than 29 hours per week, avoiding having to offer benefits. And the reduction in hours does not come with a pay raise in order offset the lost hours that many employees have suffered. For many, the loss of 11 hours per week could mean the difference between electricity or no electricity. And without health benefits many will have to forfeit doctors visits. Why, you ask? Private health insurance is extremely expensive, without work benefits people cannot afford their own policy and they can’t afford to pay out of pocket; therefore Americans will not go to doctors visits at the expense of their own health.

A waitress, (who wishes to remain anonymous) that works for Sonny’s BBQ in Ocala told us that her hours have been cut drastically. So much so that she has had to take on a second job. She said, “I cannot live on less than 40 hours per week, I don’t think anyone can.”

A staggering 97 percent of Marion County residents are now on [some form] of assistance. This includes residents who abuse the system, but that is different topic.

Many waitresses are single moms. As a single parent, daycare becomes a huge factor in paying bills. One waitress said, “If you don’t have a safe place for your children to go how can you work?” And if you are not getting 40 hours per week then a Mom or Dad is just working to pay for childcare. For many families the woman has taken the role of “bringing home the bacon.” A trend that is seen more and more in today’s economy. It is a fact that woman are hired on faster than men. Even if the man has a degree, many companies will hire a woman before they will hire a man. Stay at home Dads are more common now than ever and for many, it seems to work just fine. While the wife , fiancé, or maybe girlfriend are out earning the wages, the father stays home in order to avoid child care expenses.

Something that the Obama administration seemingly knows nothing about.
