Michael Edward Dunning, 29, of North Longwood Circle, Panama City, who was an employee of Pineapple Willy’s, was apparently taping the women while they were in a handicapped stall of the restroom, according to the Bay County Sheriff’s Office.
The wife of Dunning told authorities that she was cleaning their home when she found the tape. Upon realizing the footage was from inside Pineapple Willy’s restroom, she decided to contact authorities and turn over the tape she discovered, said authorities.
A search of Dunning’s home was performed and his computer seized by investigators. Authorities say a thorough “forensic examination” of the hard drive will be done to determine if there could be more to Dunning’s story than just voyeurism.
According to investigators, Bill Buskell, the owner of Pineapple Willy’s has been very cooperative with the investigation and say that at this time it does appear that no other employees had knowledge of Dunning’s actions at the restaurant.
Buskell released a written statement saying, “We at Pineapple Willy’s were shocked to learn of these acts from law enforcement,” adding, ‘We had no reason to believe anything like this was occurring at our establishment. We have been cooperating completely with investigators to assure that this never happens again in the future. These actions, in no part, are a reflection of Pineapple Willy’s, and are just as upsetting to us as they are to everyone else.”
Dunning was taken to the Bay County Jail where he was booked on two Counts of Video Voyeurism.
Authorities say that because some of the victims appear to be underage, Dunning could face additional charges at a later date.
