The call had originally been dispatched as a domestic disturbance involving battery, but while deputies were en route, the call was upgraded to a shooting.

The shooting took place at 8311 Southeast 16th Terrace, Ocala.

Mark was transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center, where he later died.

Major crimes detectives stated that the two were arguing and then shots were fired.  According to investigators, Michelle showed signs of bruising that would suggest a physical fight had taken place between the two. However, the specifics of the argument have not been released.

According to the sheriff’s office, there was also a juvenile inside the home at the time of the shooting. That juvenile was not injured.

“Upon completion of the investigation, this case will go to the State Attorney’s Office for review,” said Marion County Sheriff’s Office Assistant Public Information Officer, Lauren Lettelier.
