Ocala — Ocala police are searching for a woman they say stole a purse from an 84-year-old woman while shopping at Walmart.
According to a press release, the suspect took the purse from the elderly lady as she bent over to pick up a package. She then concealed the victim’s purse inside her own.
The suspect then exited the store. She got away with $50 cash and credit and debit cards.
A second woman, who was shopping at a Publix on East SR 40 on Tuesday, reported a similar incident. In this incident, the victim stated that her purse was snatched from her shopping cart. The victim screamed, at which point she got her purse back and the suspect fled the store. The victim stated that the suspect spoke with a Spanish accent.
