Marion County — Mark Hanson, 53, was killed Monday night when he lost control of his 2008 Harley-Davidson.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers said Hanson was traveling westbound on State Road 40 when, for unknowns reasons, he locked up his rear brake and dumped the motorcycle on its left side.
According to the crash report, Hanson’s body tumbled over 180 feet. The motorcycle slid more than 360 feet.

Troopers said that Hanson was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers said they do not know if alcohol was involved, but tests are pending.
