Florida — Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood said they have identified the person who wrecked and abandoned a sailboat on New Smyrna Beach.
Chitwood said, “Our beaches are not your dumping ground and now we have a warrant.”
Michael John Grimes, 49, is being charged with a felony violation of the Florida Litter Law (littering over 500 pounds).
Authorities have been trying to get in contact with Grimes since November, but he has not responded and has shown no intention of removing his boat.

Chitwood said Grimes’ last known address is in Concord, CA. However, there is a chance he has left the country.
“His location is unknown at this point, but this warrant carries nationwide extradition,” said Chitwood.
