Two cleaning service maids arrested

Nichole Blanchard and Brittany Moore

Ocala, Florida — Ocala Police Department police officers say they arrested two maids after a victim was notified by her bank about several suspicious transactions.

The victim told police that she had hired two women from Merry Maids cleaning service to clean her home.

The two 24-year-old women were later identified as Nichole Blanchard and Brittany Moore.

According to reports, the maids stole the victim’s credit card and then used it at Golden Coral, Tuffy of Ocala, a Circle K, a McDonalds, a Citgo, and Doc of Rock.

The manager of Doc or Rock told police that the two women, who were wearing Merry Maids uniforms, attempted to use the victim’s credit card three times. The manager stated that one of the women presented a passport as identification, which had also been stolen from the victim.

Blanchard and Moore were arrested and each charged with Fraud-Illegal Use of a Credit Card, Petit Theft, Fraud-Impersonate/Use ID of Another Person (x5).

Both women were released from jail on a $12,000 bond.

A spokesperson for Merry Maids said that they take these matters very seriously and that, Blanchard and Moore were immediately terminated from the company.

Doesn’t Marry Maids do background checks on the people the hire? Do they simply hire anyone who walks in off the street? This doesn’t look good of them. I suggest people lock up all their valuables when hiring cleaning women. You have no idea who you are letting into your home.

Uh, if they don’t have a record, what good is a background check?

I didn’t see any mention of a background check in the article. This kind of person usually starts their criminal career before the age of 24. Whatever…..

Merry Maids does claim to do background checks. They also claim to be bonded and insured. A bonding company won’t cover anyone that hasn’t had a background check. This story has to be very bad for business. I’m sure Merry Maids tries to hire only honest people. The problem is, there are a lot of dishonest people that put on a good front. If they haven’t been caught before, the background check isn’t going to eliminate them.

Sadly, this is true. Let’s hope no other cleaning service hires these two now.

But the real question here is did they do a good job cleaning the house or just cleaning her out????
