Store owner refuses return of damaged merchandise, suspect pulls knife

The Ocala Police Department is asking for the public’s help with locating multiple individuals who attempted to return damaged merchandise to a Paddock Mall retailer.

The owner of Double T told police that when he refused to accept the return, the customer became angry and started a verbal altercation, which was captured on video surveillance.

When the owner instructed the individuals to leave, a black male hit the owner in the face.

The owner then threw something at the customer, at which time the customer pulled out a knife and threatened to stab the owner and his wife.

Police stated that the owner fought off the suspects with a clothing pole.

The suspects eventually fled the store.
