According to reports, at approximately 8:09 p.m., on February 17, officers responded to 1307 Northwest 12th Avenue in reference to a shooting.
When officers arrived, they located a black male, later identified as Mallory D. Moton, lying on the ground in front of the residence. He had suffered several gunshot wounds.
Officers on scene administered first aid to Moton until medics arrived.
Moton was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.
This is an ongoing investigation.
