Patricia (Patti) Nina Pollitz Kirschner, 76, of Ocala, Florida, passed away on May 10, 2020. She was born on July 10, 1943, the daughter of Henry and Rosa Pollitz. Patti attended Fort Lauderdale High School and graduated in 1960. She held several positions after graduating. She worked in the Probate Division of the Broward County Court House in Fort Lauderdale. She moved on to working at Basin and Kaplan Insurance Company. For several years she worked as a Medical Transcriptionist with Kemper Insurance in Davie, Florida. She was married to Howard Kirschner on March 30, 1979 in the Broward County Court House by Judge Moe. Patti and Howard fell in love with The Top of the World Retirement Village in Ocala, Florida; when they both retired in 2006, they moved there and enjoyed the clubs they joined, gatherings they attended, and friends that they made. Patti was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ocala. Patti always smiled, thought of others, and loved her association in musical groups in Ocala. Her happiest moments were when she was singing in these different groups. She was a member of the Ocala Harmony Women’s Chorus and belonged to the “Sweet Adelines.” Patti also belonged to two singing quartets. Some of her family’s most memorable get-togethers were when Patti would pull out her accordion and give them all a mini-concert. Patti was gifted in many ways as an artist, writer, crafter, story teller, singer, accordion player, swimmer. She had the ability to draw people into her wide range of friendship. Patti was preceded in death by her mother and father, Rosa and Henry Pollitz. She is survived by her husband, Howard Kirschner of Ocala; her children, David Shackleford of Davie, FL; Danny Shackleford of Jacksonville, FL; Robbie Kirschner of Melbourne, FL; Taryn Kirschner of West Palm Beach, FL; and Sherry Kirschner of Arizona. Also surviving are two grandchildren Patrick and Brooke Shackleford. She is also survived by a brother Henry Pollitz (Connie) of Rome, GA and two nieces, Shannon Pollitz of Rome, GA and Allison Bartelski (Chris), of Cumming, GA. A private service will be at Forest Lawn Funeral Home and Memory Gardens, 5740 S. Pine Avenue, in Marion County, FL at 12:00 noon on May 14, 2020. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
