Ocala, Florida — Winn-Dixie manager James J. Koppel, 46, was arrested after upper management discovered that he had been stealing money from the store, located at 15912 East State Road 40.
Store officials reported that they installed video surveillance cameras after they began to suspect that Koppel was the person stealing from the grocery store.
According to reports, Koppel stole more than $16,000 by making fraudulent refund transactions. However, Koppel stated that he only stole approximately $10,000.

Koppel admitted that he had been stealing money from the store since July of 2015.
He told detectives that he needed the money to pay his bills.
Koppel was charged with Grand Theft and released on a $2,000 bond.
